Visit the Golfing Capital of Canada

Set between the Purcell Mountains and the Rockies, the town of Kimberley boasts stunning views and attracts tourists from around the world. Visit the golfing capital of Canada and you might find not just eighteen holes, but even to a real estate agent. If not, just be happy with improving your game.

Golf courses here include Bootleg Gap. This twenty-seven hole course hires out pull carts and clubs if you travelled light. Look for junior rates and play a round with your teenager, or just use the driving range for some practice. Kimberley Golf Club dates back to the early twentieth century and continues to thrive among the competition. Find yourself some gear in the pro shop then stop for a meal after your game.

Shadow Mountain is the newest golf course in Kimberley. Enjoy eighteen holes or nine, with short breaks in between each hole to simply admire snow-capped mountains and lush green mountain forests. The gift shop sells clothing for men and women plus accessories and souvenirs. Arrange for group or private lessons with a certified instructor. Golfing classes have been broken down according to age, with some also set aside for ladies only. Even send the kids to golf camp so they can develop a passion for this popular activity.

With a visit to St. Eugene Mission comes the opportunity to play golf by day and hit the casino at night. Instead of worrying about how to get back to your hotel room after a few drinks and some slots, stay right at St. Eugene. Arrive with a group and split up, some heading for tee time, others to a local spa. Eat out in style or opt for a casual barbecued steak at the on-site restaurant.

Golfing packages make it easy to spend the weekend golfing and hanging out. Stay in a chalet, condo or guest house. Bring a big group of eight to twelve people and split the cost, saving money to enjoy what you came for: eighteen holes. Some rentals include barbecues, hot tubs or even a fireplace.

Trickle Creek Golf Resort offers stay and play packages including a round on their green plus a room a the Lodge. Eat at the lodge restaurant then walk to golfing just minutes away. Come back to soak in a hot tub, swim a few lengths in their heated outdoor pool or burn calories in the fitness room.

Trickle Creek also sets families down right by ski hills, which could get them thinking. What about moving here? Perhaps compromise, laying down just holiday roots. Purchase property in the area for those gaps in a busy calendar that let you get away to golf or ski, alone, with friends or with family.

Should such a plan become viable, remember this is a high end location. Real estate can be scarce and expensive in Kimberley, but conveniently close to a local airport for commuting to and from Calgary and other cities. Purchase yourself a fabulous view and plant yourself close to places like Wasa Lake, Radium Hot Springs, and the Canadian Rockies.

BC offers golf condoc that are perfect for a little family time. It includes everything such as kitchen appliances, and also offers great scenery as well. If you're planning a vacation for this summer, remember to BC real estate.

Interesting Facts & Trivia About Thousand Islands

If you are planning a tour to Canada this summer, it's important to know that there is much more to experience in Canada besides the stunning Niagara Falls. There are several beautiful sites that add to the charm of Ontario, Canada in addition to the famous Niagara Falls. One such breathtaking site is Thousand Islands, a cluster of over 1000 breathtaking islands that straddle across the US and Canada border along the St. Lawrence River. Wouldn't it be a dream to cruise through these spectacular islands and wonder in amazement about the history of their formation? Your dream can come true if you take The Thousand Islands cruise during your Niagara Falls Tour that takes you on a journey amidst this amazing archipelago. Here are some interesting facts about these islands that will increase your excitement about discovering them when you tour Niagara Falls!

* Thousand Islands were formed during the retreat of the last ice age, which exposed the hard granite and gneiss characteristic of the Canadian Shield. Covered with vegetation, the islands often appear to pop out of the water, resembling mushroom caps.

* Although the region is called Thousand Islands, in reality they are 1,864 islands.

* Boldt Castle located on one of the islands called Heart Island in the Thousand Islands region, was built in the 1890's by millionaire George Boldt for his beloved wife Louise. It is a popular landmark and a tourist attraction. George Boldt altered the shape of the island into a 'heart-shape', and changed its name from 'Hart Island' to 'Heart Island'.

* Louise passed away at a young age. Boldt was heartbroken and stopped the construction of the partly erected castle. It stands to this day unfinished, although in recent years some of its rooms have been improved.

* Heart Island has been host to some spectacular fireworks displays over the years. In August of 1938, almost 20,000 people gathered to witness the $2,500 display of fireworks celebrating the dedication of the Thousand Island Bridge. Almost a year later, on August 6, 1939 another fireworks display.

* The male deer, or stags, which can be seen throughout the Heart Island known as 'harts'.

* The Thousand Islands Bridge is an international bridge over the Saint Lawrence River connecting northern New York in the United States with southeastern Ontario in Canada.

* The famous "Shortest International Bridge" that joins two equally tiny islands lies is in reality entirely within Canada, contrary to the popular belief that one of the islands is situated in Canada and the other in United States. However, local tour guides for decades touted the bridge as the shortest span between Canada and United States and that's why it got its name as "Shortest International Bridge".

* The popular Thousand Island dressing originated in the Thousand Island Region. It's made from ketchup, mayonnaise and pickle relish.

All Around Vancouver

Vancouver is made up of a number of distinct cities and districts. Each of these areas has a unique set of characteristics. When amalgamated together into the "Lower Mainland" or "Metro Vancouver" the distinctiveness is blurred. So lets unpack this city and take a look at what makes up our metropolis.

Yaletown: Yaletown begins near Vancouver's football stadium, BC Place, and hockey rink, GM Place, and runs along the south east edge of the downtown core. Yaletown is home to high rise condominiums, and trendy restaurants. Because it is the product of the late 90s, early 2000s property boom everything in this neighborhood has a distinct new feel to it.

Gastown: Gastown is located directly across from Yaletown, on the north east corner of the downtown peninsula. It is the original downtown core of Vancouver, and was labeled a national historic site of Canada in 2009. Tourists generally flock to the steam clock, one of the oldest landmarks in the city, located on the corner of Cambie and Water street. Gastown is home to many gastro-pubs and trendy nightclubs making it the place to be at all hours of the day.

Coal Harbour: The neighborhood of Coal Harbour really epitomizes modern day Vancouver. It overlooks marinas and rowing clubs to the west, the lush greenery of Stanley Park to the north, and the Burrard and Howe street financial district to the south. Coal Harbour is the awe inspiring intersection of city, park, and ocean. A trip to Vancouver isn't complete without a visit to this magnificent area.

North Vancouver: North Vancouver is an urban enclave set across from the rugged North Shore mountains. North Vancouver, or North Van, as the locals call it is a true west coast city. Its well known as an urban escape as it has a strong reputation for excellent hiking and mountain biking trails. If you happen to be in this area, make sure you check out the hiking trails through Lynn Canyon park, and if you are not afraid of heights the Lynn Canyon Suspension bridge.

Kitsilano: Kitsilano is a young up and coming neighborhood on the west side of Vancouver. Demographically, the area is comprised of students and those under 40. It is home to many yoga studios, organic markets, and cafes. LuLu Lemon Athletica calls this area home; the flagship store of the company is planted on Broadway street in this neighborhood.

Burnaby: Burnaby is a suburb located to the east of Vancouver. The telecommunications giant Telus is headquartered here, and many high tech firms such as Electronic Arts, Ballard Power Systems, Rogers, and Eastman Kodak have significant operations here. Vancouver Film Studios and The Bridge studios also call this area home. Simon Fraser University's main campus lies atop of Burnaby Mountain in the northwest corner of the city.

Sam Reynolds is the web-intern extraordinaire at Golden City Rentals, Vancouver's leading provider of furnished apartment and housing rentals. If you looking for furnished apartment rentals, furnished house rentals, or Vancouver corporate housing look no further than Golden City Rentals.

Canadian Hotels: Every Reason In Every Season

Staying in a hotel may mean getting away from telephones, neighbours, even the children. Hotels may call to mind wonderful memories of holidays, of weddings, or romantic excursions. The trick to booking the right accommodation is gearing your selection towards your purpose for travel.

For example, not everyone has a holiday in mind. Your trip to Vancouver, Toronto or Winnipeg may focus on business. If you are arranging a seminar or meeting, your best bet may house a meeting room. Hotels featuring these spaces often provide business services, such as fax and photocopying. Ask around for a place which will provide audio-visual support, reducing the amount of technological baggage you will need to carry with you.

Other business arrangements may go better in a sophisticated setting. Look for a golf course nearby permitting guests to play on their manicured green. Other considerations are bars, restaurants or lounge areas on the premises or nearby. Somewhere quiet that serves a good selection of meals to impress your business client along with liqueurs to toast success might factor into your research.

Weddings might become more like business, but really should be pleasurable when all the plans fall into place. Arrange a hotel which places you near a beautiful garden setting for photographs, such as Queen Elizabeth Park in Vancouver. If your hotel grounds include such features, this helps you to contain your guests and events. The meeting rooms which accommodate business gatherings can sometimes convert to reception rooms large enough for the post-wedding dinner and dance. Look for on-site catering.

Romantic get-aways may stem from the wedding, including the honeymooning couple or guests combining a wedding visit with their own short break. Some venues provide packages and discounts for wedding guests, bride and groom. This helps facilities to compete with surrounding hotels when convenience comes into consideration.

A romance package in the Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, can overlook a vineyard or a vast expanse of lake and sand. Ask around and you may find the hotel which provides special touches to your room. These include chocolate dipped strawberries, flowers or a bottle of wine. Room service makes a wonderful addition to hotel amenities when a couple wants to venture out as little as possible. When you look around for the right room, find out what your view will be from the window or balcony.

Sight-seeing tours of historic Quebec City or whale watching from Victoria Harbor can begin with a short walk and no parking. Consider location when booking your time away. A hotel situated close to the attractions you came to admire takes the stress out of your plans, especially if you are unfamiliar with the roads. Spend more time visiting the BC Natural History Museum or viewing the Tall Ships off the Maritime coast and less time driving. In your list of questions, remember to ask if your accommodation features a tourist service providing information about and even booking arrangements for your days out.

Family friendly facilities do their best to make traveling with little ones easy. Among their amenities are restaurants with menus for younger guests, a kiddie pool or pool with slide, and even activity coordinators. Plan well and you could find yourself with a babysitter on staff and available for you to get out without the kids for a night.
